Refurbishment of Natixis’s former headquarters on Quai de la Rapée

Located on the banks of the Seine, a stone’s throw from Gare de Lyon, this building was erected in 1974 and partially renovated in 2000. The 16-storey high-rise overlooking the river was vacated when Natixis moved to the Duo towers in 2021, opening the way for its complete restructuring.

The “23°27'” proposal by the team of LAN, T/E/S/S, Franck Boutté and Michel Desvigne won the competition launched in 2021 by Société Foncière Lyonnaise (SFL). The angle refers to the new orientation of the façade, which opens up views of Paris while providing effective passive solar protection by shielding the building from southern exposure.

Folded at this precise angle, the façade features large fixed glazed frames that make the most of the building’s exceptional surroundings, and discreetly incorporates an opaque ventilation vent concealed behind a perforated metal cladding panel in the fold of each façade bay. The fire-stop spandrel required by French regulations (C+D) is also seamlessly integrated into the overall geometry of the façade units.
